The Brit Awards 2015 in Six Seconds (aka Madonna falls over)

Oh, remember that time at the BRIT awards last night? Remember that guy who won that thing? No? Oh, that’s right, it’s probably because we’re all just remembering Madonna faceplanting in front of a billion people…

As it’ll inevitably become harder and harder to remember who won what as time goes on, Madonna has kindly granted us a crucial reference point in history. “What year did Alex Turner make his rock’n’roll speech and drop the microphone?” To which you’ll respond: “Well, I think that was the year before Madonna fell down the stairs, so it must have been 2014”. I rest my case. In case you missed it, here’s basically all you need to know about the tremendous occasion:

It’s nice to know that an entire evening can be overshadowed by Madonna falling over and tumbling down the stairs like it’s Friday Night in a kebab shop. Oh, some people won some stuff too probably:

  • Mastercard British Album: Ed Sheeran ‘X’
  • British Female Solo Artist: Paloma Faith
  • Best Male Solo Artist: Ed Sheeran
  • British Group: Royal Blood
  • International Female Solo Artist: Taylor Swift
  • International Group: Foo Fighters
  • Critics’ Choice Award: James Bay
  • British Producer: Paul Epworth
  • British Video: One Direction ‘You & I’
  • British Single: Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars – ‘Uptown Funk’
  • British Breakthrough Act: Sam Smith
  • International Male Solo Artist: Pharrell Williams

The moral of the story is this, kids: If you want to upstage everyone with little to no effort whatsoever, just turn up and faceplant like there’s no tomorrow (cape optional but we’d recommend it purely for aerodynamic purposes). As the dust settles on The Brit Awards for another year, one can’t help but wonder… if Alex Turner dropped the microphone in 2014, Madonna dropped herself in 2015… then what’s gonna hit the floor in 2016?

Agree or disagree?
