We come to you today from Blue Corner Land with great news regarding the return of yet another legendary band… The Hives! I’m sure you’re all wondering the same as we were… what the hell happened to them anyway?!
For a band who managed such worldwide prominence without compromising their integrity for popularity, it’s a bit hard to believe that it has already been five years since their last release, ‘The Black and White Album’ in 2007. But fortunately for us, it seems like The Hives are once again ready to take on the world with their own brand of garage-rock (and top hats).
Their fifth, self-produced album ‘Lex Hives’ will be released on June 5th 2012 and they’ll also be playing a handful of UK shows in December so don’t miss out on your ONLY chance to see The Hives in the UK so far this year!!
But of course, The Hives aren’t only known for their frantic yet distinctive sound – but also for their emphatic stage presence and their iconic matching black-and-white suits; both of which I am pleased to tell you have only been amplified with the mark of their return! I would highly recommend you see for yourselves by watching The Hives live performance of ‘Go Right Ahead’ and ‘1000 Answers’ on Jools Holland which aired in the UK on the 22nd of May… think five Monopoly men banging out some badass garage-rock. (if this was a real representation of Monopoly then I probably would have played it within the last ten years).
