What do you get when you cross two Swedes, and three Californians? GRIZFOLK.

grizfolk-band-of-the-dayGrizfolk make what is a seemingly impossible combo of Swedish electronic pop, folk-americana, and alternative rock into an entertaining blend of musical abilities. Producing upbeat electronic songs, slightly heavier and rockier tracks, and slower more folk influenced ones, it’s this mix of musical influences that has resulted in Grizfolk creating songs which are each uniquely their own.

After Swedish producers Fredrik Eriksson and Sebastian Fritze met with Adam Roth in 2013, the addition of Brendan James and Bill Delia completed the band. Frontman Adam Roth sings with a certain enticing edge of grittiness in his voice which is comparable to Marcus Mumford, while Sebastian Fritze contributes synth and BVs, and Fredrik Eriksson plays guitar. Bassist Brendan James also adds BVs, and Bill Delia plays drums.

Their ‘From The Spark’ EP dropped early last year, and their ‘From The Road’ live EP was released this past December. Coming off of a tour on the east coast, Grizfolk is definitely on the rise; they opened for Bastille in the fall of 2014, appeared on Letterman on February 18th, will be playing both The Bottlerock festival and Firefly Music Fest, among others, this year, and just announced a tour with Smallpools, Hunter Hunted, and The Vinyl Theater.
