Django Django reemerge from their hibernation with the first preview of their forthcoming album in the form of ‘First Light‘.
With psychedelic, unified vocals dragging their feet throughout this eccentric episode, bassy synth is supported by bursts of ear-ringing synth. The electro-percussion faithfully keeps time throughout before taking a short breather to let an eerie interlude unfold.
To our delight, Django Django still find time to feature a somewhat subdued guitar solo that steals the spotlight as though it was still the early noughties. As the final repetition of the hypnotic chorus rings out, the quirky percussion intensifies briefly before ‘First Light’ meets its demise. It’s hard not to feel like you’ve been under Django Django’s spell for the duration of the track, with the very last beat being a snap of the fingers to bring you back to reality.
